The Cloud Operations Lead role involves overseeing a team of engineers, including System Administrators, Endpoint Administrators, and Cloud SysOps Engineers. This position entails providing guidance on best practices, processes, and methodologies to the team. The role encompasses both leadership and hands-on contributions.
 
The team's scope covers various tasks, including change management, incident management, problem management, and vulnerability management. The Cloud Operations Lead is expected to possess advanced knowledge of AWS cloud services and be well-versed in ITIL operational processes. This individual should be experienced in mentoring junior engineers and implementing cloud infrastructure and application management best practices. Additionally, the role involves ensuring the prompt resolution of customer Service Level Agreements.
 

Responsibilities:
 
  • Act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring operational issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
  • Provide guidance to the team, cultivating a culture of operational excellence.
  • Distribute and manage team workload, assigning tasks in an efficient manner.
  • Supervise security, vulnerabilities, and patch management activities, maintaining up-to-date and secure systems and infrastructure.
  • Proactively manage daily events, tasks, incidents, and problems to minimize operational impact.
  • Lead discussions with Cloud Service Providers, OEMs, and principals, staying informed about industry trends and technologies.
 

Requirements:

 
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency in IT service management (ITSM) frameworks, such as ITIL.
  • Familiarity with IT security and compliance standards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Solid technical knowledge in domains like System Administration, Networking, Cybersecurity, Business Continuity, MS Active Directory & IAM, and End Users Computing.
  • Knowledge of enterprise-class applications like Tenable, CyberArk, NetBackup, Splunk, Palo Alto, Symantec Endpoint Protection, etc.
